Tips for Google Adwords fundamentals Exam

I have just passed AdWords Fundamental Exam at 94%, still have 40 minutes left when I finish the exam: https://googlerecords.starttest.com?code=I006BFE65FA6AF07CEE65F770006CF025983DDB
Here are my tips on revision:

1. Go through the Google learning center.

They are the basic knowledge you need to learn, but don’t expect you will find a same question/answer from the learning center.

2. Open an real AdWords account.

Text based material is very abstract, you need to open an adwords account, create a campaign, ads group, ad, keywords, image ads. Play around the ad rotate, schedual etc…

3. Do some sample tests.

I recommend http://www.ipassexam.com/, they charge £24.99 for 1 month, include over 400 practice questions, and the questions are very very similar to the real exam. the real exam only has 113 questions. Go through 400 questions, and understand all of them, the real exam will be very easy for you. As I mentioned, I finished 2 hrs exam within 1hr 20minutes, and got 94%.
Here are my tips on questions.

1. some questions are tricky

More than one question are correct, but you have to choose the best answer. So read all questions carefully before answer it.
e.g. ads group are not appearing on search page, what could explain the cause of this ad group level issue.
A. The budget has been exceeded
B. The ads have been disapproved
C. There are outstanding charges
D. The ad group default bid is being used

2. Some questions need to be memorized

e.g.: which one is not a valid mobile ad size?
mobile ad has 8 different sizes, you need to know what they are, and find the wrong question!

3. Some questions are stupid, but not many

e.g. what’s the best example for seasonal ads?
answer is: selling Swim Wear in Christmas targeting Australia.
If the you are not living in Australia or not familiar with geography, you won’t know Christmas in Australia is in summer.
Good luck on your exam!
